Vintage 1970’s/80’s YUKI Red Long Gown UK 10-12

Vintage 1970’s/80’s YUKI Red Long Gown UK 10-12

This stunning crimson red dress was designed by Gnyuki Torimaru, who worked for the likes of Louis Feraud, Norman Hartnell and Pierre Cardin, before launching his own Yuki label in 1972.

This draped, jersey dress uses large panels of fabric cut on a full circle, to give the dress maximum fullness without the need for seaming, a technique that this designer was famous for.

Her plunging neckline is framed by a choker style collar with a central fastening tie that drapes down the revealing, deep neckline.

She has large raglan sleeves, which are gathered at the shoulder and drape into the flowing bodice.

The bodice itself, has 2 seams, along the sleeves and the centre back, giving the dress a luxurious drape and flow around the body.

The long skirt is again one piece of gathered fabric with a centre seam. A concealed zip is cleverly hidden by small gathers at the waist.

A truly striking gown and a wonderful, collectable addition to your vintage wardrobe.
